Catalyst and Engage Grants 2024-25 Recipients

Goa Open Arts is excited to unveil the recipients of the Catalyst and Engage Grants for 2024-25. These grants continue our commitment to supporting the vibrant artist community in Goa.

Congratulations!

The Catalyst Grant will award INR 50,000 each to six talented artists for the development of innovative art projects.

The completed works will be showcased at the Goa Open Arts grantee exhibition in April 2025, in collaboration with the Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts.

Divyesh Undaviya

Divyesh is an artist who will explore emotional and physical transitions through a new body of work based on personal experiences.

Kiran Tamboskar

Kiran works with art and technology & will work on a new media art installation that highlights the impact of our surroundings on our thoughts and emotions.

Pragya Bhagat

Pragya combines text and art as a writer and artist and will develop a multimedia installation inspired by the intricate world of Indian witchcraft.

Shilpa Naik

Shilpa has a deep connection with the Ovala flower, and as an artist, will craft an immersive installation reflecting their sensory and cultural essence and their heritage and rituals.

Shyam Pahapalkar

With an interest in natural materials, Shyam will create 2D and 3D compositions using materials like tree gum, bark, and wood apple pulp to explore Goa's heritage and modernity.

Sumit Naik

Sumit is an artist specialising in detailed, figurative charcoal drawings on paper. He will innovate with paper and design techniques to present reduced hyper-realism in his artwork.

Engage Grant Recipient

The Engage Grant provides INR 50,000 to Studio Button, a collective partnering with a local children’s home to produce an animated film. Through hands-on animation workshops, Studio Button aims to support children in isolation, fostering their creative and social skills.

Mentorship

This year’s grantees will benefit from mentorship by esteemed senior artists from Goa, who will provide valuable feedback and guidance to the granteees.
